Tottenham holds a fire sale, Juventus bags a brace at lunchtime
A red-hot lunch hour: Tottenham are dismantling their squad and shipping their prized assets across Europe, while Juventus close two deals in a matter of hours. Here's what's cooking according to this morning's breaking news.
The starter comes from London, Tottenham side, who opened the sales floodgates today. Gianluca Di Marzio reports Cristian Romero's move to Atletico Madrid as official: a five-year contract and a 40-million-euro deal. Also leaving the Spurs is Guglielmo Vicario, heading to Juventus, with Calciomercato.com running a "here we go" and describing an agreement with Tottenham for a loan with an option to buy. And there's a third man too: according to Di Marzio, Djed Spence has already arrived in Milan and reported to CONI for his fitness tests before becoming an Inter player.
The main course is black and white. On top of Vicario, Juventus also register Jhon Lucumi: Calciomercato.com announces him officially arriving from Bologna for 19.5 million euros plus bonuses, a version confirmed by Di Marzio. A brace in Turin within a single morning, with the Colombian defender and the former Empoli goalkeeper strengthening the side.
In Spain the cooking is Spanish but it's served in Paris. Di Marzio announces Ferran Torres as official at Paris Saint-Germain: a 50-million deal on a five-year contract, with Barcelona losing their forward. The Blaugrana, meanwhile, stay at the stove on Rodri: Calciomercato.com reports the figures of the deal with Barcelona, 60 million fixed plus 16.5 in bonuses. PSG also land Mika Godts from Ajax, for 45 million plus 10 in add-ons according to Di Marzio.
There's no shortage of a Serie A and Premier League side dish. Di Marzio calls the transfer of Parma goalkeeper Suzuki to Aston Villa a done deal. On the way out, Calciomercato.com flags David Odogu leaving Milan for Toulouse on a straight loan, while Genoa are a step away from Van Der Brempt on a loan with an obligation to buy at favourable terms.
For dessert, a few dishes still on the fire: Calciomercato.com tells of Al-Sadd tracking Gabriel Martinelli, with Arsenal valuing him at over 50 million, and of contacts between Torino and Elche for Aboukhlal, a possible loan with an option to buy. The afternoon menu, in short, promises more courses.
