Gattuso official at Lazio, Juve push for Dibu and Kolo Muani

With the World Cup in the United States in the spotlight, Serie A's transfer market keeps moving: Gennaro Gattuso is officially Lazio's new head coach, Juventus are working on two fronts for Dibu Martínez and Kolo Muani, and Inter are preparing an assault on Nico Paz. From La Liga, Real Madrid have wrapped up Cucurella; from the Premier League, Manchester United have confirmed Mbeumo, while Milan press on with a major squad clear-out.

At Juventus the two big targets remain hot. In goal the Bianconeri are not letting go of Emiliano «Dibu» Martínez: the agreement with the Argentine keeper is in place, and talks with Aston Villa now centre on the fee, with the Villans having started from a €15m demand (Sky Sport, Gazzetta dello Sport). In midfield the push continues for the return of Kolo Muani: according to Gazzetta dello Sport it is an open-ended negotiation but the costs remain high, with PSG keen on Thuram — deemed expendable by Spalletti — as a possible makeweight (Calciomercato.com). In attack the trail leading to Atlético Madrid's Alexander Sørloth also stays alive (Tuttosport).

Inter, meanwhile, have chosen their playmaking target: Como's Nico Paz, valued at around €60m, with the Nerazzurri ready to pounce while the Argentine's relationship with Real Madrid stays frosty and Como wait (Sky Sport, Eurosport, Corriere dello Sport). On the way out, Davide Frattesi's future is in focus: Nottingham Forest are preparing an offer (Sky Sport), while SportPaper floats a swap with Juventus involving Andrea Cambiaso, himself a Chelsea target.

The day's official news comes from the Lazio side of Rome: Gennaro Gattuso is the club's new head coach, having signed a deal until 2028 with an option (Calciomercato.com, Corriere della Sera). Napoli, for their part, are closing in on João Gomes, with an agreement reached with Wolverhampton for the Brazilian midfielder (Gazzetta dello Sport), while up front the Partenopei challenge Juventus for Atlético's Sørloth (DerbyDerbyDerby).

Milan's clear-out remains intense, with the Rossoneri continuing to finalise exits to the Premier League and beyond: the sale of Patrick Cutrone to Wolves is official (Gazzetta dello Sport), while Noah Okafor joins Leeds and Samuel Chukwueze moves to Fulham. Matteo Gabbia's switch to Villarreal and Yunus Musah's to Atalanta complete the picture. On incomings, Milan remain watchful on Nico Paz too.

Abroad, Real Madrid confirm the arrival of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, a defensive reinforcement for the blancos (Calciomercato.com), while from the Premier League Manchester United seal Bryan Mbeumo, signed from Brentford for around €82m (Goal.com). In Serie A, Roma complete the signing of Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund and wave goodbye to Tommaso Baldanzi, sold to Genoa.

All of this as the World Cup in the United States heats up: overnight France beat Iraq 3-0 thanks to a Kylian Mbappé brace, while Portugal saw off Uzbekistan with Cristiano Ronaldo becoming the first player to score at six different World Cups. On the market front, trails to watch remain — from Koopmeiners heading to Bologna (Tuttosport) to moves in La Liga — as the game waits for July's official deals to unlock the negotiations still open.
