Lunch Break: Milan rise again with Amorim, Atalanta clean up

The menu changes at the table: Milan, leaderless only yesterday, are finally laying it out for real, with Ruben Amorim expected in Italy to sign and Emerson Royal's arrival now confirmed. All around it's lunchtime for the others too, between an Atalanta sweeping up done deals and a Roma serving a double starter on the way out.

Let's start with the main course. After weeks on an empty stomach, the Rossoneri finally have something to stock the pantry with: according to Calciomercato.com, Ruben Amorim “lands in Italy to sign between today and tomorrow,” ready to leave Genoa and take the Milan bench. Incoming, meanwhile, Emerson Royal's arrival is confirmed: quite the change of pace for a club that only yesterday was the one left without a coach.

On our board, the dishes already served carry mostly Atalanta's stamp, as they clean up: the arrivals of Yunus Musah from Milan and young Sbravati from Juventus are considered done, while Giovanni Puljic leaves Bergamo. Double service for Roma too, who finalize outgoing moves for Riccardo Mancini (to Inter) and Marcelo Vaz (to Genoa) and, incoming, put pen to paper on Salah-Eddine arriving from PSV.

The kitchens are warming up as well: Domenico Tedesco is the new Bologna coach, while Alessandro Aquilani leaves Torino to take the Sassuolo bench. Two more bills are settled in Serie A: Napoli release Allan to Everton and Lazio welcome Matteo Pedraza from Villarreal.

In Turin, Juventus uncork the good bottle: the deal for goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martinez, from Aston Villa, is now confirmed, while — Calciomercato.com reports — new executive Carnevali is planning to rebuild the scouting department. Abroad, Barcelona are in charge with a gourmet brace: the arrivals of Nico Williams from Athletic Club and Anthony Gordon from Newcastle are now wrapped up.

For dessert, in LaLiga there is André Silva's farewell, leaving Elche to join Porto, while in Florence only aperitifs of rumours are being poured, from Ounahi on down. We close with coffee and an endorsement: Olivier Giroud crowns his former teammate Christian Pulisic, “he reminds me of Hazard, he can lead any team.” Enjoy your meal.
