Como beat Parma 2-1, Roma win in Turin, Inter hit five
A full Serie A evening: Como beat Parma 2-1, Roma won 2-0 in Turin and Inter came back to beat Udinese 5-3. Three different wins, all backed by clear numbers, and plenty of fantasy football bonuses.
At the Sinigaglia, Cesc Fabregas's Como beat Parma 2-1 on matchday 4 of Serie A. The opener came in the 23rd minute from Jacobo Ramón, assisted by Nico Paz, and the second in the 83rd from Kaiki, set up by Máximo Perrone. Carlos Cuesta's Parma only pulled one back in the 90+2nd minute through David Romero, assisted by Pontus Almqvist, with the game already settled.
The numbers describe a dominance wider than the scoreline: 64% possession, 28 shots to 12, 11 corners to 4 and 3.24 expected goals to 1.23. If Como stopped at two goals, much of the credit goes to Edoardo Corvi: 5 saves and the highest statistical rating of the match, 8.3. Behind him Kaiki and Nico Paz on 8.2, Perrone on 7.9; at the bottom Sascha Britschgi with 6.0.
Roma won 2-0 away to Ignazio Abate's Torino: Donyell Malen opened the scoring in the 40th minute, Niccolò Pisilli sealed it in the 90+3rd. Torino had more of the ball, 53% to 47%, but shot half as often: 7 shots to 14, 0.76 expected goals to 1.91 and a single corner to 8. Malen was the best according to the data with 7.9 in 57 minutes, while Lucas Perri, on 7.5, kept Torino afloat.
At San Siro, the wildest game of the night. Kosta Runjaic's Udinese went 2-0 up in sixteen minutes: James Abankwah in the 9th, assisted by Unai Gómez, and Jürgen Ekkelenkamp in the 16th, set up by Keinan Davis. Cristian Chivu's Inter levelled before the break with Carlos Augusto in the 26th and Nicolò Barella in the 35th, assisted by Marcus Thuram. After the restart Thuram made it 3-2 in the 57th from an Andy Diouf assist, Pio Esposito 4-2 in the 67th, set up by Piotr Zieliński, and Ange-Yoan Bonny 5-2 in the 79th. In the 90th Idrissa Gueye, assisted by Vakoun Issouf Bayo, made it 5-3.
The gap is all in the numbers: 27 shots to 6, 12 on target to 5, 3.09 expected goals to 0.79. Udinese scored three times with less than one expected goal, and Maduka Okoye's 7 saves prevented a heavier defeat: he finished with a statistical rating of 8.7, like Barella and Thuram. Among the worst were Christian Kabasele and Lennon Miller on 5.6 and Josep Martínez on 5.9.
For fantasy football the night rewards Inter: Thuram brings +4 between goal and assist, Barella, Carlos Augusto, Pio Esposito and Bonny +3 each. At Como +3 for Jacobo Ramón and Kaiki, in Turin +3 for Malen and +2.5 for Pisilli, who adds a goal and a booking. Goals conceded weigh heavily: -5 for Okoye, -3 for Martínez, -2 for Corvi and Perri, -1 for Robert Sánchez. FantaTB fantasy ratings arrive overnight.
Abroad, in the Premier League Leeds beat Newcastle 4-1 with an own goal by L. Miley and goals from J. Bogle, D. Calvert-Lewin, N. Okafor and B. Touré; in La Liga Real Betis won 2-1 at Villarreal, with Gerard Moreno, C. Hernández and Natan on the scoresheet.
