Jacquet joins Liverpool, Juve close deals, Como dream big

The heavyweight lunch course speaks English: Jeremy Jacquet is officially a Liverpool player, around 55 million pounds paid to Rennes. In Italy it is Juventus setting the menu — Ekhator wrapped up with Genoa, Daffara served to Parma — while Como keep dreaming big after the Nico Paz coup.

We start with the finest appetiser: Calciomercato.com confirms it, «Jeremy Jacquet is officially a new Liverpool player», signed from Rennes for a fee close to 55 million pounds. It is the deal that opens the Reds' day and immediately raises the bar for the English market.

The busiest table is still Juventus'. According to Calciomercato.com the Bianconeri have closed with Genoa for Jeff Ekhator, a 16 million deal plus 2 in bonuses and a makeweight, and have finalised the sale to Parma of young goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara for 6 million, keeping 10% of any future resale. In defence Lucumí from Bologna is closing in, while Vicario's stock is rising for the goalkeeping slot. In the background, the same source reports a UEFA fine of up to 20 million for breaching Financial Fair Play: the Old Lady spends and, that same afternoon, foots the bill.

On the lake they are not settling. After Nico Paz, Como have added two more pieces: Luis Milla, «here we go» from Getafe for 6 million, and Mattia Liberali, with an agreement reached on a 6 million basis. And the ambition does not stop there: the Lombardy club are probing Real Madrid's Gonzalo García and Elche's Álex Sánchez. The message is clear, Fabregas' side want to play with the big boys.

At Roma they are working on two opposite fronts: Girona's Arnau Martínez is liked as an incoming target, while Sangaré is heading out towards Elche. Further north, Genoa are pushing for Jens Cajuste: the midfielder is on his way out of Napoli and the rossoblù, after «asking for information», are trying to seal the deal.

The coffee, as always, is served by the World Cup: overnight the Netherlands fell on penalties to Morocco and Germany bowed out of the tournament, so much so that — Calciomercato.com reports — Jürgen Klopp has declared himself available to take the Mannschaft bench. Enjoy your meal: the transfer table, meanwhile, stays set.
