Lunch break: Gila and Provedel done, Khalaili stuck at CONI

The market sits down to lunch with two real signatures: Gila is officially a Milan player and Ivan Provedel is Inter's new goalkeeper. But the most talked-about bite is still stuck in the throat, because for Khalaili the CONI has asked for further checks on his sporting eligibility and the Inter medical has been pushed back.

In Serie A the main course is served by Milan. Gila has arrived from Lazio and it is already official — “We will do beautiful things with this team”, his first words relayed by Sky Sport and eurosport.it — while on the other flank the Rossoneri complete a swap with Villarreal: Matteo Gabbia flies to Spain and Samuel Chukwueze makes the opposite trip to Milan. Suso also packs his bags, heading back to LaLiga with Sevilla.

On the Inter side, the Provedel deal is stamped: Sky Sport reports it as an official move, complete with the figures and contract details for the former Lazio keeper. The Khalaili chapter, instead, is the morning's soap opera: after the announcement of medical and signing relaunched by Quotidiano Sportivo, the CONI put everything on hold, asking for further eligibility checks (Calciomercato.com, eurosport.it). On the way out, meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries's big-money move to Real Madrid has been finalised and is now official.

Plenty of dishes elsewhere in Serie A too. Fiorentina land Aleksandar Dragusin from Tottenham and Momodou Atta from Udinese, letting Moreno leave for Levante; Napoli work two tables, with Lucca already in and Dodo one step away, although in Naples they warn a sale is needed first. Further south things move fast: Roma have set their sights on Strasbourg's Diego Moreira with a first offer of 30 million plus 10%, Cagliari are closing in on Leicester's Harry Winks, and Venezia pulled off an overnight raid in Spain for Sevilla's Akor Adams, a 16-million deal with Calciomercato.com's “here we go”.

In Spain the heaviest stamp comes from Atlético Madrid: Morten Hjulmand is officially a colchonero, arriving from Sporting Lisbon for 40 million. At Barcelona the talking point is Ferran Torres, who according to Calciomercato.com has a basic agreement with PSG while his renewal with the Blaugrana (expiring 2027) is getting complicated. And Real Madrid, having sorted the Dumfries arrival, lighten their defence by waving off Marley Huijsen, bound for the Premier League.

In the Premier League, Manchester United now have Bryan Mbeumo all but secured from Brentford, while Sandro Tonali has completed his move from Newcastle to Tottenham. Bournemouth shop mainly in Italy: in come Cristian Mandas from Lazio and Marley Huijsen from Real. The coffee, these days, tastes of the World Cup: overnight Spain edged Belgium 2-1 thanks to Merino's goal in the 88th minute, Lamine Yamal was named Man of the Match and the Belgians had to bid an early farewell to Thibaut Courtois. Enjoy your meal.
