Inter lose Khalaili, Dybala renews at Roma, United's double swoop

At lunchtime the spiciest dish is served by Inter, forced to give up on Khalaili after the failed sporting eligibility confirmed by Marotta. Elsewhere there are smiles: Roma tie Dybala down until 2027, Manchester United land the Andrey Santos-Tielemans double and Lazio wrap up Doekhi on a free.

The bitter mouthful of the day is served at Inter: the Anan Khalaili deal has definitively collapsed. It was Beppe Marotta who confirmed it in a press conference — the Union Saint-Gilloise Israeli “will not be an Inter player” — after the failed sporting eligibility, as reported by Calciomercato.com, Fanpage and Il Messaggero. The Nerazzurri aren't left empty-handed and are looking around: SportPaper flags their eyes on Doué of Strasbourg, while Calciomercato.com adds Nahuel Molina among the options being weighed for the right flank.

Roma, by contrast, are smiling and setting a table full of renewals. Paulo Dybala has extended until 2027, with the announcement arriving in the morning (eurosport.it and Calciomercato.com), tying the Joya down in the capital. And it doesn't end there: both Zeki Celik and Lorenzo Pellegrini have reached a verbal agreement in principle to extend their contracts (Calciomercato.com) — before buying, the Giallorossi are securing their pillars.

In the Premier League, Manchester United serve the heartiest course with a midfield double. Andrey Santos's arrival from Chelsea for €48 million is official (Calciomercato.com) and, within a few hours, the Red Devils have also wrapped up Youri Tielemans: Aston Villa's release clause activated for a deal worth around €41 million (Corriere dello Sport, Calciomercato). A double blow that, English sources explain, files away the Ederson trail and also changes the picture for Manu Koné.

A whirlwind day for Aston Villa, who cash in and reinvest. On the way out, Lucas Digne is a step from PSG, who have told Villa they will pay his release clause of over €10 million (Calciomercato.com); coming in is the Johan Manzambi coup, with a deal agreed with Freiburg for a figure north of €60 million plus bonuses, leapfrogging Newcastle (Calciomercato.com, Goal.com). Meanwhile, across the city in Rome, Lazio are closing in on Danilho Doekhi: the former Union Berlin man, a free agent, has already arrived in town to finalise a free transfer (Sky Sport, Calciomercato.com).

On the Italian front the market of side dishes is bubbling. Cagliari are on a spree: Harry Winks signed from Leicester, with Daniel Maldini very close (Sky Sport, CagliariToday); Fiorentina have filed Alex Jimenez's contract with the League (Corriere dello Sport), while Juventus keep pushing for Randal Kolo Muani, with PSG asking over €45 million and Fanpage speaking of a Bianconeri ultimatum. And in quick succession, the official appetisers: Anouar El Azzouzi to Frosinone on a free from Fortuna Düsseldorf, Federico Ravaglia from Bologna to Watford on loan with an obligation to buy, and Francisco Trincão from Sporting to Al Ahli for €45 million (Calciomercato.com). Enjoy the meal: the transfer table remains set.
