United's double swoop for Mbeumo and Cunha, Tonali joins Spurs

While Spain savour a World Cup final, the transfer market is serving double portions at lunch: Manchester United put both Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha on their plate, and Sandro Tonali leaves Newcastle for Tottenham. In Serie A the menu is Italian, with Roma landing Evan Ferguson amid a whirl of arrivals and departures from Florence to Como.

The heartiest course comes from the Premier League. Manchester United pull off a transfer double: Bryan Mbeumo arrives from Brentford and Matheus Cunha is also wrapped up from Wolverhampton, two attacking additions that reshape the Old Trafford front line. Across London, Tottenham shop in the Italian aisle and bring in Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, a full-international coup for the Spurs midfield.

In Serie A the arrivals menu is generous. Roma dish up the main course with Evan Ferguson, signed from Brighton to bolster the attack. Fiorentina lay two places: Víctor Valdepeñas is sealed from Real Madrid — a verbal agreement and a "here we go" from Calciomercato.com — with Arthur Atta also secured from Udinese. Others fill their baskets too: Como take Luis Milla from Getafe, Udinese land Unai Gómez from Athletic Club, Cremonese add Jeremy Sarmiento from Brighton and Lecce sign Tete Morente from Elche; Cagliari book Harry Winks from Leicester.

The bitter side dish of departures is on the table too. Inter let Valentin Carboni go to Parma, while Milan trim the pantry: Patrick Cutrone flies to Wolverhampton and Suso heads for Sevilla. Lazio cash in by selling Mandas to Bournemouth, one of the hungriest clubs of the day.

Abroad the cooking is quick. In LaLiga, Atlético Madrid close for Morten Hjulmand from Sporting CP, while Real Madrid clear the shelf by sending Dean Huijsen to Bournemouth. In the Premier League, newly promoted Sunderland do the big shop: in come Jobe Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund and Granit Xhaka. And the freshest bulletin smells of the Bundesliga: Robin Gosens is on the brink of Schalke 04, a "here we go" from Calciomercato.com for a 2.5 million euro loan from Fiorentina. Also from Sassuolo, Tarik Muharemović is set to join Leeds (Calciomercato.com).

To finish, the rumour aperitif. Inter are working several tables: tempted by a return for Ivan Perišić from PSV, they have been offered Mateo Kovačić on his way out of Manchester City and keep negotiating for Djed Spence with Tottenham, who reportedly put Romero on the table in the talks (Calciomercato.com). Juventus dream big with Folarin Balogun of Monaco and a possible move for Inter's Davide Frattesi, while Milan work on renewing Luka Modrić, "increasingly close" to signing (Calciomercato.com). All of this with the World Cup on the plate: Spain thrashed France 2-0 (Oyarzabal from the spot and Porro) to reach the final, and for Deschamps an era is over. Enjoy your meal.
