Roma table 45m for Summerville; Vojvoda already Udinese's

At midday the market serves a hearty starter: Roma have laid out 45 million for Summerville and are only waiting on the Dutchman's yes, while Udinese have already wrapped up Mërgim Vojvoda. Also on today's menu: Mattia Liberali made official at Como and the Spanish coup of Deportivo La Coruña, savouring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

In Serie A we start with the dishes already served. Udinese have closed Mërgim Vojvoda in a deal worth 1.3 million plus 300,000 in bonuses (Calciomercato.com), while Como have made Mattia Liberali official, arriving from Catanzaro after his release clause was triggered (Calciomercato.com). Two light courses, but already digested — the kind that whet the appetite.

The main course, though, smells of Trigoria. Roma have a 45-million cheque ready for West Ham for Summerville: according to Calciomercato.com, only the Dutchman's final green light is missing to set the table. A rich mouthful the Giallorossi want to swallow before it goes cold.

Around it, a crowded side dish of Italian dealings. Sassuolo have opened talks for Francesco Acerbi, Lazio are at the stove for John Kennedy — a 2002-born forward from Fluminense — and Bologna are sampling Rahim Alhassane, a 2002 left-back from Real Oviedo. Free agent Kingsley Ehizibue, meanwhile, has both Torino and Udinese pulling up a chair, with Valencia ready to steal his seat (all via Calciomercato.com).

On the sales front, Fiorentina are clearing the pantry: Valentini is close to Grêmio for 3.5 million (Calciomercato.com). Abroad, the hottest plate comes from La Liga: Deportivo La Coruña have closed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Olympique Marseille for 1.5 million, complete with a «here we go» from Calciomercato.com.

For the rest, the morning was slow digestion, few pots on the fire and plenty of rumours still to bring to the boil. The World Cup kept us company: in the semi-final Argentina came from behind to beat England 2-1, Enzo Fernández at 85' and Lautaro Martínez at 91' after Gordon's opener (Calciomercato.com). We'll be back at the table for dinner: enjoy your meal.
