Lunch Break: a flurry of done deals, Dieng-Lazio hits a snag
A morning of signatures in Serie A and beyond, with Milan confirming Moreira and Roma closing for Rodrigo Mora. But the main course is the Dieng-Lazio deal, which by midday runs into trouble over the medicals.
The bite that might go down the wrong way comes from Formello. After the agreement reached yesterday and the player's arrival in Rome for his medical — as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio — Calciomercato.com broke the midday news: the deal for free-agent striker Bamba Dieng is now «at serious risk», because the medical tests flagged a problem. A twist that leaves Lazio holding their breath.
On the signings front, though, the plate is full. Milan have officially signed Diego Moreira from Strasbourg: Calciomercato.com reports a €50 million deal plus €16 million in bonuses (Di Marzio still values it above €40m). Also official, Tijjani Reijnders is a new Al-Qadsiah player, arriving from Manchester City for €61 million according to Calciomercato.com. In the Premier League, Aston Villa have confirmed Matteo Ruggeri from Atlético Madrid (€25m per Calciomercato.com; Di Marzio cites £21.4m in an operation that also includes Zion Suzuki), while Roma have closed for Rodrigo Mora from Porto: €25 million plus 50% of any future sale.
The Milan-Como axis is hot too. Di Marzio and Calciomercato.com report an agreement in principle between Milan and Como for Samuele Ricci, on loan with an option to buy. In parallel, Como are finalizing centre-back Willy Kambwala, a 2004-born player from Villarreal. Beyond the Dieng question, Lazio are also advancing for Josip Sutalo: per Di Marzio, a €3 million loan with a buy option set at €7.5m.
At Inter the board stays busy. Di Marzio confirms the agreement with Liverpool for Curtis Jones — a five-year contract at €3.5 million net — with the England midfielder expected in Milan. On outgoings, a denial instead: Barcelona have made no offer for Lautaro Martinez, considered not for sale. And Milan rejected Galatasaray's approach for Rafael Leao on a permanent deal.
Rounding out the menu, the side dishes from the lower and mid table. Frosinone are closing in on Walid Cheddira (€3.5 million plus bonuses), but it's a scramble: contacts also with Napoli, Monza and Lecce. Fiorentina are negotiating with Bayer Leverkusen for right winger Ernest Poku (born 2004), Bologna are in advanced talks for Baltika defender Nathan Gassama, and Napoli are closing for young Favasuli from Catanzaro on loan.
