Cucurella joins Real Madrid, Milan push for Mateta and Gila

A day of closings and accelerations: Real Madrid seal the arrival of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, Milan reach an agreement for Jean-Philippe Mateta and overtake Napoli in the race for Mario Gila, while Cagliari land Demi Akarakiri from Everton and Lecce sell Ylber Ramadani to Corum. On the negotiating front, Juventus are exploring goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, Roma have given the green light to Dovbyk's loan to Genoa, Fiorentina have entered the race for Trabzonspor's Oulai and Besiktas have opened talks with Arsenal for Leandro Trossard.

The day's centre of gravity is in Milan, on the Rossoneri side. Milan have reached an agreement for Jean-Philippe Mateta, incoming from Crystal Palace, and above all have overtaken Napoli in the chase for Lazio's Mario Gila: Calciomercato.com reports that after the Rossoneri's move Napoli have switched to Andrea Natali for their defence. Meanwhile the club's already completed deals remain on the books: in comes Goncalo Ramos from PSG, out go Samuel Chukwueze to Fulham and Suso to Sevilla.

In Spain, Real Madrid are active: they have sealed the signing of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea and closed the sale of defender Huijsen to Bournemouth, on the day Nico Paz's move to Como becomes official. Elsewhere in La Liga, Real Sociedad have landed Guedes, Atletico Madrid have agreed terms with Sporting CP for Morten Hjulmand, and Athletic Club have waved goodbye to Unai Gomez, bound for Udinese; also on his way out is Luis Milla from Getafe, heading to Como.

Napoli, having missed out on Gila, remain strong on Manchester United's Rasmus Hojlund, their number-one target up front, and are weighing Natali as an alternative at the back. Roma are very busy: Calciomercato.com reports the green light for Artem Dovbyk's loan move to Genoa, while on their way out are Paulo Dybala, bound for Boca Juniors, and Emanuele Baldanzi to Genoa; incoming, the Giallorossi have wrapped up Bryan Zaragoza from Bayern and Tresoldi from Club Brugge.

Inter have completed the arrival of goalkeeper Ivan Provedel from Lazio and are pressing on with their reshuffle between the posts, with Yann Sommer leaving and Stefan De Vrij departing for Panathinaikos, along with Francesco Acerbi. Juventus are working on several fronts: the moves for Kolo Muani and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano 'Dibu' Martinez remain at an advanced stage, the arrival of young Emil Muharemovic from Sassuolo is done, and according to Calciomercato.com the club have opened an approach for Zion Suzuki.

On the sales front, Lazio keep losing pieces: after Provedel, Cristian Mandas leaves for Bournemouth and Matias Vecino heads to Celta Vigo, while Pedraza has arrived from Villarreal. Cagliari have pulled off the Demi Akarakiri signing from Everton and sold Gianluca Gaetano to Atalanta; Fiorentina, Calciomercato.com reports, have entered the race for Trabzonspor's Inao Oulai, valued at between 23 and 25 million. Lecce, finally, have completed the sale of Ylber Ramadani to Corum FK.

In the Premier League, Manchester United have confirmed Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, Tottenham are on the verge of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle and Sunderland have closed for Jobe Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund; Calciomercato.com adds that Besiktas have opened contacts with Arsenal for Leandro Trossard, a deal worth around 18 million. In Italy the mid-table clubs are moving too: Monza are tracking Wolfsburg's Lovro Majer. All this while the 2026 World Cup plays out on the pitch, with the transfer market running alongside the national teams' fixtures.
