Roma bid €45m for Summerville, Vojvoda joins Udinese

The transfer day of 16 July revolves around Roma, who according to Calciomercato.com have prepared a €45m offer to West Ham for Summerville and are now waiting only on the Dutch winger's green light. In Serie A, meanwhile, Udinese have wrapped up the signing of Mërgim Vojvoda, while Sassuolo have opened talks for free agent Francesco Acerbi.

The move of the day is Roma's. According to Calciomercato.com, the Giallorossi have put together a €45m offer for Summerville: West Ham are on standby and only the Dutch winger's final yes is reportedly missing to close the deal. It is an acceleration that places the Roman club among the most active of the moment in attack.

Udinese, by contrast, have already closed. Again according to Calciomercato.com, the Friulani have sealed the arrival of Mërgim Vojvoda in a €1.3m deal plus €300,000 in bonuses, with the full-back set to sign. A low-cost reinforcement for the black-and-white defence.

Sassuolo are also moving in Serie A, having opened contacts for Francesco Acerbi. The defender, currently a free agent, would be an experienced addition to the Neroverdi back line, though the negotiation — Calciomercato.com reports — is still in its early stages.

On the negotiating front, the market board shows fresh movement above all in Serie A. Lazio are reported to be closing in on Pedraza, incoming from Villarreal, while the many names swirling around Napoli and Roma — from midfield targets to assessments of possible departures — remain at the rumour stage. In the absence of official confirmations, the day's hard facts are the ones above.

All of this with the World Cup still in the background: the semi-finals have delivered their verdicts — Argentina beat England 2-1 and Spain saw off France 2-0 — and the final will pit Argentina against Spain. On the market, however, the feeling is one of a transition day, awaiting the clubs' next moves.
