September 1 deadline day: Kean to Como, Sarr and Woltemade to Juventus
On the final day of the summer window Serie A saw a flurry of official announcements, from Moise Kean's signing for Como to Juventus' double swoop for Pape Sarr and Woltemade. There was business abroad too, with Jonathan David joining Atletico Madrid and Manchester City agreeing a deal for Enzo Fernandez.
Deadline day brought a packed schedule of announcements in Serie A. The deals wrapped up in the closing hours spanned the whole country, from the big clubs completing their squads to smaller sides finalising signings and sales before the cut-off.
Juventus were among the day's protagonists. The arrival of Pape Sarr from Tottenham is official, a 30 million euro deal to bolster the midfield (Sportmediaset, eurosport.it). The Turin club also confirmed Woltemade as their new centre-forward, signed from Newcastle (eurosport.it, Sportmediaset), while the same round of business took Jonathan David to Atletico Madrid (Sportmediaset).
There were significant moves on the Tuscan axis as well. Como confirmed Moise Kean with the player's signature, a deal that brings several million into Fiorentina's coffers (Sportmediaset, Goal.com). The Viola, for their part, sold Albert Gudmundsson to Lazio on loan with an option to buy (Gianluca Di Marzio) and welcomed Pedro Goncalves from Sporting (La Gazzetta dello Sport).
More deals were completed in Milan, Rome and Naples. Milan announced the arrival of Hutchinson (Sky Sport) and finalised the sale of Fofana to Lyon (La Gazzetta dello Sport). Roma confirmed the departure of El Aynaoui, bound for Leipzig (Corriere dello Sport), while Napoli sent Lindstrom to Salzburg (Videoinformazioni).
The chapter on the other Serie A clubs was a busy one. Atalanta confirmed Rowe from Bologna, described as the most expensive signing in the club's history (BergamoNews, Corriere dello Sport), and formalised Ahanor's move to Chelsea effective from 2027, following a spell at Crystal Palace (Sportmediaset). Sassuolo signed Caleta-Car from Lyon and Sulemana on loan from Atalanta (Sportmediaset); Torino announced Braganca and are closing in on the return of Mandragora (Toro.it, La Gazzetta dello Sport); Parma confirmed Diego Carlos and goalkeeper Ghidotti and loaned Sorensen to Celtic (SportParma); Genoa wrapped up Drameh and Robinho Jr from Santos (buoncalcioatutti.it); Verona announced Iannoni (Daily Verona Network).
Abroad the market kept moving. Atletico Madrid, in addition to David, also confirmed Kamate on a contract until 2030 (FC Inter 1908), while Manchester City agreed a deal for Enzo Fernandez, expected in the city (Gianluca Di Marzio). With the summer window closing, the squads for the new season are now essentially set.
