Dumfries to Real Madrid: deal agreed, Florentino confirms it
Corriere della Sera has confirmed that Inter and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for Denzel Dumfries. President Florentino Pérez left no room for doubt: «Dumfries to Real, he's ours».
The breakthrough came on 2 June 2026: Corriere della Sera reported that Inter Milan and Real Madrid had agreed a deal for Denzel Dumfries. The Dutch right-back, a cornerstone of Inter's defensive line in recent years, is set to leave Milan for Spain.
Florentino Pérez himself put the stamp on the news. The Real Madrid president, quoted by SOS Fanta, was unambiguous: «Dumfries to Real, he's ours». A presidential declaration of this kind, in Madrid's football lexicon, amounts to a virtual confirmation, pending the official announcement from both clubs.
In the same statement, Florentino also unveiled a separate plan: a €150 million move for a young player from outside the Premier League. This is a distinct operation from the Dumfries deal, one that has fuelled speculation about which profile Madrid are actually chasing.
Corriere dello Sport had already flagged the Dumfries thread in the days leading up to the confirmation, linking the Dutch international to Real Madrid's broader summer ambitions. The 2 June report from Corriere della Sera simply turned rumour into confirmed agreement.
With Dumfries heading to Madrid, Inter are already searching for a replacement on the right flank. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Provedel is under discussion. The Nerazzurri's transfer window is in motion: Aleksandar Stanković's return to the club was also made official in recent hours.
A joint official announcement from Inter and Real Madrid is still pending. Transfer fees have not been made public. With the deal confirmed by the press and by the words of President Pérez, however, a formal conclusion appears imminent.
