On Wednesday evening Calciomercato.com broke the news: the Giallorossi have a €45m offer ready for West Ham's Dutch winger, with «only the player's definitive OK» still missing at that point. The same figure was echoed by Pagine Romaniste, which spoke of a «total sprint» with €45m ready while awaiting the Dutchman's yes.

The negotiation heated up over the last few hours. Sky Sport had reported the meeting between Roma and Summerville's agents; once the talks ended, Pagine Romaniste said the club was waiting for West Ham's response.
