Rodrigo Mora to Roma: the deal edges closer to completion

Roma are closing in on Rodrigo Mora and the deal with Porto is now in its final stretch. Gianluca Di Marzio reports the transfer has already been finalized, while La Gazzetta dello Sport and IlRomanista place the agreement just one step away.

Rodrigo Mora's name has been linked with Roma for several days. As early as Friday 14 August, Corriere dello Sport listed him among the club's open negotiations, alongside the moves involving Frattesi and Spence.

In the latest hours the picture has grown more concrete. LaRoma24 explained that the Giallorossi wanted to wrap up Mora first, before returning to the Luis Henrique track, while forzaroma.info spoke of a "sprint", with the talks down to the final details.

There was competition too: Virgilio Sport, recapping the day's market, flagged an attempted move by Milan to overtake Roma for Mora. According to the sources that followed, however, that push did not change the course of the operation.

The turning point came overnight. Gianluca Di Marzio wrote that "Rodrigo Mora will be a Roma player", reporting that the club had finalized the transfer of the Portuguese forward from Porto. During the day, Corriere dello Sport added that Roma and Porto had moved closer again, placing the deal among those nearing completion.

Completing the picture were La Gazzetta dello Sport, which said Roma were "closing in on the agreement" while explaining what was still missing, and IlRomanista, headlining "Mora heading for the agreement". On the TransferBeat board the status of the deal is now "confirmed".

The final formal steps remain to be settled before the official announcement from both clubs. The sources do not give consistent figures on the operation, so the financial details are still to be confirmed; the strongest signal remains the "finalized" written by Di Marzio.
