There was competition too: Virgilio Sport, recapping the day's market, flagged an attempted move by Milan to overtake Roma for Mora. According to the sources that followed, however, that push did not change the course of the operation.

During the day, Corriere dello Sport added that Roma and Porto had moved closer again, placing the deal among those nearing completion.

The final formal steps remain to be settled before the official announcement from both clubs. The sources do not give consistent figures on the operation, so the financial details are still to be confirmed; the strongest signal remains the "finalized" written by Di Marzio.
